Artist Statement

I am fascinated by the way people are drawn to specific things among many choices. The theme of my work is “feeling love and happiness.” When we feel love, we experience happiness, and when love is absent, we often feel loneliness or emptiness. Through my artwork, I aim to convey the importance of having love always by our side. I express this idea through my ceramics, using mushrooms as a motif, which I deeply adore. Through colors and textures, I shape mushrooms in various ways. In nature, mushrooms play a crucial role as fungi, supporting the life around them. They are like love in our emotions—an unseen yet essential force that sustains life. Just as life cannot thrive without fungi, our hearts cannot grow without love. The form of mushrooms represents life itself and the strength to live. By borrowing their shape, I hope to evoke something that speaks to our instincts. The mushrooms I create are imbued with my love. If my work can bring a sense of happiness or joy to those who encounter it, I believe my mission will be fulfilled.

Title: "GROWTH - The Ceramic Totem of Self-Formation" 

The ceramic totem "GROWTH" captures the process of love and happiness growing steadily, much like mushrooms quietly flourishing in the forest. Each piece of the totem is independent, allowing viewers to freely select and combine them to create their unique totem. This process can evolve over time, adding pieces gradually or composing it with only the elements that resonate with the individual. With each special occasion, you can add new pieces, connecting memories together. As the totem grows, it becomes a personal monument filled with cherished memories. It all begins with just one piece, yet over time, it flourishes into something more.

The vibrant designs of each piece reflect the richness of nature and the moments of joy in our daily lives, collectively forming layers of life and happiness. This artwork celebrates the diversity of love and the beauty of growth at every stage of life, illustrating how they come together to create a single narrative. This totem is a monument to the moments of joy we share and the individual growth we celebrate. For viewers, this piece can become a monument to their own lives.

The "Mushroom" series is a collection of wall-mounted ceramic artworks inspired by the natural beauty and quiet mystery of mushrooms. Each piece in this series reflects the organic forms and textures found in nature, expressed through vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and playful design. These artworks capture the essence of growth, life, and transformation, much like mushrooms that emerge from the earth in delicate yet resilient forms.

Each piece stands independently, allowing the viewer to appreciate its unique character. Just as mushrooms flourish in diverse ecosystems, these pieces speak to the vitality and richness of nature. This series celebrates the ever-changing cycles of nature, and through the layers of form, texture, and color, I hope viewers can sense the delicate balance between fragility and strength.

Wherever the Love Bomb Mushroom drops, conflict doesn't arise; instead, the area is filled with a sense of complete happiness and peace. Even the minor squabbles that lurk in our daily lives bloom into flowers of love and understanding through the power of the Love Bomb Mushroom. Its strength never wanes, and once unleashed, it saturates the surroundings with affection.

This concept carries a message that each of us possesses a Love Bomb Mushroom, capable at any moment of sharing love and nurturing happiness.
