I am deeply interested in human emotions and in the things that move the heart.

When I was a child, my parents’ divorce led me to move to a small house in the mountains.
With no one to play with, I spent my days in the forest gathering nuts, picking flowers, and chasing wild rabbits.
Nature became my closest companion.

There was only one thing my mother strictly forbade me to touch: mushrooms.
Because they could be dangerous, I was told to stay away from them. To me as a child, they became mysterious things that I was not allowed to approach.

And yet, the more forbidden they were, the more strongly they remained in my memory.

Why are we drawn to certain things?
Why does something move us or make our hearts flutter, even when we cannot explain why?
I remain fascinated by the moments when such feelings arise, and by the invisible forces that connect us to people, things, and the world around us.

Today, mushrooms have become central to my work.

Fungi extend their mycelial networks beneath the soil, connecting life throughout the forest and sustaining its cycles in places we cannot see.
Though usually hidden from view, they are undeniably present, linking living beings to one another and supporting the environments in which life exists.

To me, that force closely resembles “love.”

I believe that love, too, is something that quietly resides within us.
Though invisible, it connects people, supports us, and at times becomes a force that helps us to live.

Both fungi and love lie at the root of life.

I see in the unseen workings of fungi a reflection of the ways in which love and emotion exist.

I do not seek to give visible form to what is unseen.
I want it to remain unseen, while leaving its presence within the work.

What emerges from that—love, exhilaration, tranquility, or something that resists being named—I want each person to receive in their own way.

The mushrooms I create carry a prayer for the forces that quietly support, connect, and sustain someone, often without ever being noticed.

If an encounter with my work makes someone’s heart stir, even for a moment,
and allows them to sense the presence of something unseen,

I hope that small moment of wonder may lead toward love and happiness.
